	John Singleton Paul Walker, Tyrese, Eva Mendez, Cole Hauser, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, James Remar, Devon Aoki 2003		2 bad that they took 2 much valuable time and 2 much precious money to make "2 Fast 2 Furious" — an all-2-unnecessary sequel to the clumsily-plotted, street-racing-centric action hit, "The Fast and the Furious," with tired script mechanics and formula characters. Blond, smirking Paul Walker reprises his role as hard-drivin' renegade cop Brian O'Conner, but "2 Fast 2 Furious" doesn't have the luxury of Vin Diesel returning as Walker's ethnic foil from the first film. Diesel, too big a star to be a sidekick anymore, made up for a number of shortcomings in "The Fast and the Furious" with his swagger. In Diesel's stead, actor/rapper Tyrese plays O'Conner's convict buddy Roman. The authorities give O'Conner and Roman a chance to clear their names by bringing down a drug lord (Cole Hauser) with the help of a deep-cover agent/hottie (Eva Mendes). Although Walker and Tyrese look good and don't stumble over the trite dialogue, only the high-octane audio-visual razzle-dazzle of the racing sequences resounds. John Singleton, who directed worthier features such as "Boyz N the Hood" and "Shaft," earns a payday by keeping the frenzy moving boldly forward.
